Nutmeg realises its strength lies in the particular qualities of its employees, associates and partners. We recruit project leaders with wide-ranging corporate experience, strong observational skills drawn from journalistic or communications training and practice, and a commitment to corporate and personal responsibility. This rare combination of skills and experiences enables them to analyse corporate cultures, recognise existing corporate responsibility assets within businesses and produce effective strategies and marketing tools.
Nutmeg was founded, and is owned and managed, by Mark Howell and Morag Livingstone.
Mark Howell
Mark Howell is a specialist in culture and communications, and a social entrepreneur. Having previously worked for twelve years in the City of London, in Cairo and in house for a leading telecoms company, practising corporate and commercial law, Mark has extensive experience of corporate life. Mark was actively involved in quality and employment motivation initiatives while working as a lawyer and developed his interest in social responsibility while working in Egypt. He also has a Masters degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the London College of Communication.
Mark is a Borough of Poole Councillor representing Poole People, a local, independently-minded party. He co-founded and is Chairman of The Arts Poole c.i.c., a voluntary not-for-profit arts organization: theartspoole.co.uk. He is also a Board Member of Poole Old Town Conservation Group. He also provides mentoring services to social entrepreneurs through UN Ltd.
Morag Livingstone
Morag Livingstone is a communications advisor, editor, videographer and documentary photographer with a track record in working to promote organizations, positive action, raise awareness and effect change. Working closely with a range of corporate, government, medical and not-for-profit organizations Morag on the one hand, utilises her skills to develop multimedia packages for campaigns, awareness and training tools and on the other, works with young people in the UK on a collaborative approach of learning by doing, to develop their confidence, employability, media and business skills.
After gaining an Honours degree in Business Studies and 15 years in the corporate sector, where she worked globally in the Oil, Telecoms, IT and Commodities industries in a variety of commercial roles based both in the UK and Zambia, and latterly as Commercial Director for a US telecoms company, Morag decided it was time to combine the creative with corporate ethical and social policies. In the process Morag attained a Masters Degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the London College of Communication. She has created multimedia films in Europe, Asia, Africa and America for corporates demonstrating her ability to empathise with the demands placed on corporate organisations and an ability to bring both companies and their projects to life through the visual medium, on time and to budget.
